Girl Scout product programs teach girls essential business and life skills.
-
Goal Setting. Girls learn to create a plan to reach their goals.
-
Decision Making. Girls learn to make decisions on their own and as a team.
-
Money Management. Girls learn to create a budget and handle money.
-
People Skills. Girls find their voice and up their confidence through customer interactions that build relationships.
-
Business Ethics. Girls learn to act responsibly and honestly, both in business and in life.
Through the programs girls are also generating proceeds that financially fuel their Girl Scout adventures.
Girl Scouts of North East Ohio facilitates two product programs each year. Participating Girl Scouts can serve their customers using paper order cards, online storefronts, or both.
- During the Fall Product Program, Girl Scouts sell a variety of snack items, magazine subscriptions, and other items like Tervis Tumblers, Girl Scout-themed BarkBoxes, candles, and personalized stationery. This program typically runs mid-August through October.
- For the Girl Scout Cookie Program, Girl Scouts offer customers a variety of Girl Scout cookies--which can only be purchased from Girl Scouts. This enterprise is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial and financial program in the world. This program typically runs January through March.
The support of family and friends makes all the difference for Girl Scouts participating in these programs. Thank you! If you don't know a Girl Scout personally, ask around to find one, and during the cookie program you can find cookie booths in your area at gsneo.org/findcookies.
Resources for paticipating Girl Scout familes and volunteers can be found at gsneo.org/fpp and gsneo.org/forcookiesellers.
